Humble Beginnings
La Triestina Food Manufacturing pty Ltd was established in the heart of Melbourne in 1957. Today, La Triestina is a family operated business that stretches across three generations of the De Pasquale family. Production first began in a small factory in Fraser Street, Airport West. Back then, distribution was carried out by personally delivering stock to our customers from the back of the family sedan.
A Blessing in Disguise
Tragedy struck in 1977 when a devastating fire broke out, causing extensive damage and destruction to our machinery and pasta making facilities. This forced us to take the next step in expanding our business. We relocated to the site in Brunswick where we still operate from today. Our bigger and better facilities enabled us to increase our production and expand our range, supplying more businesses across Australia with fresh and delicious pasta.
La Triestina Today
In the present day, La Triestina employs over twenty people and provides pasta to every state in Australia. With the endless pasta brands on the market nowadays La Triestina is proud to to be 100% Australian made and owned. We are currently celebrating over 50 years in business and are looking forward to the next 50. We are proud of our long history and are committed to creating the same delicious pasta products using traditional methods and fresh ingredients. It’s a long way from the days of operating out of the back of the family car.
